Lonely

I MISS BYU!!!!!

Columbia is soooooo boring. I have two close friends here at the moment because they're in high school, but that also means that they have school every day. Alas. Although I just got a job at Steak 'n Shake, which is pleasant. The manager hired me on the spot because I'm just that awesome. I'm scared. Will I learn everything fast enough? Will people get made at me? Can I count money? Oh the worries of this life....

Conference Weekend

Wow. This has been such an epic weekend. We got up at the crack of dawn on Friday to meet my parents in American Fork where they have been staying with my grandparents and drove a ways to get to Solitude where we spent the day skiing. Lauren and Hannah had never been skiing, so it was an interesting time involving a lot of falling and ski popping offage. We also met up with the Hainsworths by chance (although we have run into them every year for the past five while skiing...), a family from my home ward, in the afternoon.
Conference weekend was AMAZING! We (Miah, Lauren, Shay, Logan, and I) drove to Salt Lake. As soon as we got there, Mark met us and gave us a great parking pass for the museum parking lot, like as close as you can possibly park. Then we went up to his Dad’s office and ate a little bit. On our way out we met Elder Nelson and his family and said “hi” to President Monson’s daughter. We walked over to the conference center and finally made it inside. We walked all the way down to the bottom where the ropes for reserved seats are and got ready to sit down when the usher looked at our tickets and told us to keep going down, so we did. Then we thought we were going to sit down again, but the next usher looked at our tickets and pulled aside another rope for us. We knew out tickets were really good, but not that good! We were slightly to the left of the podium in the fifth row, right behind the wives and right next to the new general authorities we realized as they stood up and walked to the stand when Uchtdorf announced them. The talks were great, particularly Elder Holland’s, obviously. It was really entertaining seeing a lot of the General Authorities falling asleep, particularly the Prophet (we could see all of them really clearly). The most exciting part of the meeting, though, was when we were singing “We Thank Thee Oh God for a Prophet.” I was smiling and staring at the Prophet and then he looked over and smiled and winked really big! Logan and I looked at each other and were like “Oh my gosh! Did the Prophet just wink at us?!?” And the people behind us said “Did you just see the Monson wink at them?” Yeah. The Prophet winked at me. Awesomeness.
As we were leaving conference, Ty texted Miah (he had permission from his mission president) and we met up with him and they talked for like thirty minutes.

Good Idea

I'm pretty sure that not having any classes on Friday is the best idea ever. I highly reccommend it. Hopefully my schedule next year will alow for it all. I really need to start keeping a journal. I'm hungry. I need a really good paying job this summer. Agh. I am going to be extremely amused by the speed dating activity that our hall is having with a hall of random boys tomorrow. Oh BYU, how I love thee.
I have also decided to go visit my friend's home home instead of going to the Festival of colors. The festival is here every year, but he's not since he's going on a mission, so I am kind of obligated...
That is all.

Whoa

Holy Crepe! Look, I'm updating my blog! In the words of one of my favorite roommates: "What the Fuzzy?!?!"
Anywho, so updates: I'm taking a break from transcribing. Blech. Kind of boring...I'm also frustrated with my church history class, I study a lot and feel like I know the content and get perfects on the short answer parts, but the multiple choice is killing me. I always get a B! Aaaagh! It is a three hundred level class, but I don't know what else I could be doing...Ugh.
I am also somewhat addicted to "Overheard at BYU" on FB, if you haven't checked it out... are you not a student here or do you live under a rock? I just love reading all the funny Zoobie comments and professor's weird statements.
Creamery ice cream is delicious. Mmmmmmmm....I had to have some since we skipped Tradition Tuesday(going to Baskins and doing the buy one sunday, get one free thing) today since no one wanted to walk or use precious money.
We finished our stupid psych test that we've been taking as a group in my history of psychology class. We met four times for over two hours. Gross. Apparently the two older kids in my group didn't think we were freshmen, though, which is kind of awesome.
I am so excited that we will be with RMs next year. Granted some of them will be really weird, but at least all our friends won't be leaving at the end of the year or at semester. And the majority will hopefully be more mature...although by the actions of a certain guy in our ward, I'm not putting too much trust in this...ah well.

My Roommate, Mariah, is complaining that her "stupid plant" is still not growing. I'm pretty sure that she drowned it. That is all.

Gruetzi!

So, this friend told me to make a blog for purely self motivated reasons on her part, but I decided to anyway, not like anyone is going to read this, but maybe it will be nice to rant about things...or I will forget about it...I'm one of those people. It is unfortunate. Maybe I should try to change that about myself...We are always trying to improve, us BYU kids, or at least we're supposed to be. Actually, if we're really being accurate, it should be the human race, it's just that the BYU kids are actually told to. And to get married, but that's another story...an aspect of BYU that I choose to ignore for now even though one of my favorite people in the world is now "engaged" to Mike Swindle and I am somewhat jealous of their engagement pictures...
